Battle for a giant

Last week we had another game to move forward with the story plot.

The idea is to play four games, each with the army of a specific chaos power, including the relevant player's warband, facing a portion of the defenders of Praag, in the end we can see who won the most games between chaos or the Imperial/Kislevite forces.

In this specific scenario, the warbands had to confront a giant and beat it into submission to claim him as an ally in their game against the defenders of Praag.

The participants were Cyrus, with his Khorne warband, Doyle with his followers of Slaanesh and Ronan commanding his newly generated warband of Tzeentch.

I was acting as umpire and controlling the giant.

The giant is asleep in the center of the table after having pillaged a small hamlet and having drunk the local reserve of alcohol. When charged and wounded it would wake up and act appropriately drunk.

The unnaturally fast troops of Khorne engage the giant right away...

...while a three way clash between Khornegors, Slaangors and some mutated berserkers followers of Tzeentch takes place nearby

In the meantime the Tzeentchian mercenary captain mutated into a hydra fights some slaaneshi dwarves while some orc on boars try to encircle it

The other troops of Tzeentch, cover their champion who has the ability to teleport around shooting away with his needle pistol.

The two main fights: Khorne orcs versus the giant and beastmen and daemonic berserkers are still going on in the center of the table, while the crossbowmen of the lord of pleasure shoot indiscriminately in the melee with the giant, getting rid of the champion of Khorne in the process

In the end Khorne is victorious, the giant is defeated and will begrudgingly be part of the section of the siege assigned to the forces of the Blood God.

A new warband joins the party

We got a new member joining the warbands party for the siege of Praag.

Yesterday we had a 4 ways game, Max was not available, but we had Ronan joining with a new Tzeentch warband.

He has never played any Warhammer before, so we had a simple game to get him introduced to the system. We thought to do a 4 ways game, but we ended up with two smaller 1 Vs 1 games, one a classic Slaanesh Vs Khorne challenge with Doyle and Cyrus clashing on the far side of the table, while mine and Ronanès Tzeentchian warbands duelling to see who is the favourite of the Changer of the Ways.

On the far end Slaanesh ended up winning thanks to a lucky spell that left Cyrus' champion dancing on his Juggernout and a bunch of crossbows that at this size of game are very very powerful.

On our end I started really well with a charge from my ogres that put most of Ronan's warband running for the hills, the problem was the Icon if Divine Wrath that his champion got as Mark of Tzeentch that blasted and rounted a lot of my troops with its lightnings.

I still could have pulled a win with the Dragon ogre, but I decided that it was safer to retreat and give Ronan a little boost on VP to get his warband up to speet with the other ones.

Here are some pictures of the games
